Today I am going share with you some of my favorite life is short quotes. We all know life is short, but most of us still live in denial, and kid ourselves hat we are going to live forever.
As the saying goes, live today as if it is your last day on earth. I believe life is worth living to the fullest each and every day. To hell with those nitty-gritty or wishy-washy stuff. Forget perfection. Forgo what you can’t have. Do what you can and enjoy what you have for now.
You should get Janet Street-Porter’s book “Life Is Too F***ing Short : A Guide to Getting What You Want Out of Life Without Wasting Time, Effort, or Money“. She advises you (especially women) how to live and enjoy life as it is. Be happy and confident. It is a fun and inspirational guide book you should read.
Here is my list of life is short quotes:
“Life is too short not to make the best and the most of everything that comes your way everyday” – Sasha Azevedo
“Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of.” – Charles Richards
“Enjoy yourself. It’s later than you think.” – Chinese Proverb
“Go for it now. The future is promised to no one.” – Wayne Dyer
“Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.” – Elbert Hubbard
“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” – Abraham Lincoln
“To change one’s life: Start immediately. Do it flamboyantly. No exceptions.” – William James
“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” -Annie Dillard
“When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a manner that when you die the world cries and you rejoice.” – Indian Saying
“If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance.” – Andrea Boydston
“Whether it’s the best of times or the worst of times, it’s the only time we’ve got.” – Art Buchwald
“Every second is of infinite value.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
“There are but three events in a man’s life: birth, life, and death. He is not conscious of being born, he dies in pain, and he forgets to live.” -Jean de la Bruyère
“‘Tis better to buy a small bouquet. And give to your friend this very day, Than a bushel of roses white and red, To lay on his coffin after he’s dead.” – Author Unknown
“Don’t ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is the special occasion.” – Author Unknown
Remember in the movie “Moonstruck“? Nicolas Cage’s character Ronny Cammareri says to Loretta played by Cher:
“Loretta, I love you. Not like they told you love is, and I didn’t know this either, but love don’t make things nice – it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren’t here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and die. The storybooks are bullsh*t.”
We aren’t here to make things perfect. We are here to make mistakes and, in the process, live fully. How true, isn’t it?
As I have mentioned above forget about perfection. Sooner or later we all have to die. As Henry Miller says: “The imperfections of a man, his frailties, his faults, are just as important as his virtues. You can’t separate them. They’re wedded.”
