London-born Charles Spencer Chaplin started off as a professional entertainer when he was a member of a juvenile group called “The Eight Lancashire Lads”.
He was then known for his tap dancing skill.
From there he was discovered a movie contract. But it was on November 10, 1913, Chaplin signed up with Mack Sennett and the Keystone Film Company.
With an overnight success, Chaplin was approached by many film producers.
It was in 1915, he then crossed over to Essanay Company.
